Recommended Installation Environment
To protect your battery and maximise its lifespan, the battery module should be installed indoors, away from direct exposure to harsh environmental elements. The area should meet the following location conditions:
- Completely waterproof and free from moisture ingress.
- Flat and level wall surface for stable mounting.
- Free of flammable or explosive materials.
- Stable ambient temperature, ideally within the operating range of -20°C to 50°C.
- Optimal working range: 15°C to 35°C for battery longevity.
- Humidity-controlled environment with minimal dust and airborne contaminants.
- At least 2 metres away from any heat source.
- Minimum 0.5 metres clearance from the inverter’s air outlet.
- Avoid direct sunlight exposure or installation in enclosed, unventilated spaces.
- Do not cover or wrap the battery casing or cabinet.
- The area should be inaccessible to children or pets.
- Avoid locations with high salinity, humidity, or extreme temperature swings.
Caution: If ambient conditions exceed the supported operating temperature range, the battery pack will automatically shut down to protect internal components. Repeated exposure to harsh temperatures may significantly reduce the battery’s performance and lifecycle.
Mounting Distance & Positioning
When mounting the Deye RW-M6.1-B battery module:
- The distance from the battery pack to the wall should be between 0 to 40mm.
- If installing multiple battery packs, maintain at least 100cm spacing between units for adequate airflow and serviceability.
- Ensure proper ventilation in the installation area to avoid heat build-up—even though the battery has natural cooling and does not require forced ventilation, good airflow helps maintain system stability.
Grounding Requirements
For safe and compliant operation, the battery system must be properly grounded:
- Use the grounding harness provided (illustrated in Chapter 3 of the installation manual).
- Connect one end to the battery’s designated ground point.
- Connect the other end of the harness to your local grounding system, following applicable regional electrical standards and codes.
