Description
The DEYE High Voltage C&I Battery Cabinet 215kWh (TS), supplied as model MS-TS500-2-A, is an AC collection cabinet designed to manage multiple AC power sources or outputs within an energy storage system. The MS-TS500-2-A is specifically equipped with an STS transfer switch and diesel generator input terminals, enabling automatic switching between on-grid and off-grid operation.
When the grid is available, the system operates in on-grid mode. If the grid fails and the energy storage system reaches the specified SOC condition for generator start-up, a connected diesel generator can supply power to the loads while surplus generator power can be used to charge the ESS. Once the ESS reaches the configured SOC threshold for generator shutdown, the generator can stop. When grid power is restored, the inverter automatically switches back to grid-tied operation.
The MS-TS500-2-A has a rated load power of 500kW, rated grid power of 500kW and rated oil engine power of 500kW. It is designed for three-phase connections and incorporates dedicated switching, protection and connection components within the cabinet.
Key Features of Product
500kW AC Collection Capacity
The MS-TS500-2-A is specified with a 500kW rated load power, 500kW rated grid power and 500kW rated oil engine power. Its rated current is 721A at 0.4kV, with a 1,000A rated busbar current. The cabinet also has a rated insulation voltage of DC1000V and rated working voltage of AC400V.
On-Grid & Off-Grid Switching
A key feature specific to the MS-TS500-2-A is its STS transfer switch. The cabinet can automatically switch between on-grid and off-grid modes according to the actual operating conditions.
When grid power is available, the system operates on-grid. During a grid failure, the system can transition to off-grid operation when the required conditions are met. When the grid recovers, the inverter automatically returns to grid-tied operation.
Diesel Generator Connection
The MS-TS500-2-A includes dedicated diesel generator input terminal blocks and a diesel generator molded case circuit breaker. The generator connection is specifically identified as a function of this model in the supplied manual.
This configuration allows the generator to participate in the off-grid power supply process when the required ESS SOC conditions are reached.
Integrated Protection Components
The internal cabinet layout includes grid input terminal blocks, a special circuit breaker, surge protection device, STS transfer switch, load molded case circuit breaker and load input terminal blocks.
The MS-TS500-2-A also provides dedicated generator input terminals for its diesel generator connection.
Three-Phase AC Connections
The cabinet provides dedicated grid, diesel generator and load connection points. The manual illustrates three-phase connections using L1, L2, L3 and N, with PE provided for the grid connection.
Outdoor-Ready Enclosure
The MS-TS500-2-A has an IP54 enclosure rating and a system operating temperature range of -20°C to 55°C. Its maximum working altitude is specified as 3,000m.
Robust Cabinet Construction
The cabinet measures 1,000 × 1,000 × 2,250mm and weighs approximately 740kg or less. Its foundation and installation requirements are designed around mechanical support, cable routing and later maintenance access.
Compatible ESS Integration
The supplied manual allows the MS-TS500-2-A to be connected with GS215 energy storage systems, with a maximum of five GS215 systems connected to the AC collection cabinet. The cabinet can also work with MC-L430 systems for capacity expansion, with a recommendation to connect a maximum of two MC-L430 systems.
Main Benefits
Supports Flexible Power Operation
The combination of grid, ESS, load and diesel generator connections gives the MS-TS500-2-A a defined role in systems requiring different AC power sources. Its STS transfer switch allows the system to switch between grid-connected and off-grid operation.
Suitable for High-Power C&I Applications
With 500kW rated load and grid power, the cabinet is designed for large-scale energy system applications where multiple AC sources or outputs need to be managed through a dedicated collection cabinet.
Supports Backup Operation
When the grid fails, a connected diesel generator can supply the loads according to the operating conditions described in the manual. Surplus generator power can also be used to charge the ESS until the configured generator shutdown SOC threshold is reached.
Simplifies System Integration
Dedicated connection points for the grid, generator, load, EMS and ESS provide an organised cabinet architecture for integrating the different components of the energy storage system. The manual also specifies connection points for GS215 and MC-L430 systems.
Designed for Long-Term Site Operation
The cabinet includes defined inspection and maintenance procedures covering the enclosure, cables, grounding, protection devices, warning labels and overall system condition. This provides a structured approach to ongoing equipment maintenance.
Installation
Installation of the MS-TS500-2-A must be performed by qualified professionals or trained personnel who understand electrical wiring, mechanical structures, relevant safety requirements and applicable standards. The manufacturer also requires appropriate PPE during installation and maintenance.
1. Prepare the Installation Site
Install the cabinet on a level, firm and smooth concrete or other non-combustible foundation with sufficient bearing capacity. The foundation should also provide suitable space for cable routing, drainage and future maintenance.
The installation area should be clean, dry and well ventilated, with suitable temperature, humidity and altitude conditions. The equipment must be kept away from flammable or explosive materials, heat sources, fire sources, water leakage and areas where flooding may occur.
2. Prepare the Required Tools
The manual lists installation tools including a hammer drill, insulated torque screwdrivers, insulated torque socket wrench, cable cutter, wire stripper, hydraulic pliers, multimeter, heat gun, cable ties, level and measuring tape.
For moving and positioning the cabinet, an industrial forklift or crane may be required. Appropriate PPE includes insulated gloves, protective gloves, goggles, insulated shoes, safety helmet and protective clothing.
3. Move the Cabinet Safely
The cabinet is a heavy piece of equipment, weighing approximately 740kg or less. When using a forklift, the manual specifies a bearing capacity greater than 5t and provides dedicated forklift insertion positions.
Keep at least 2m away from the forklift during operation, avoid sharp turns and do not operate the forklift on slopes of 5 degrees or more. When lifting the cabinet by crane, use approved lifting equipment and ensure all lifting connections are secure.
4. Position & Secure the Cabinet
After positioning the cabinet, ensure that it is seated correctly and level. The MS-TS500-2-A is secured using four L-shaped angle steels where supplied.
The angle steels are fixed to the cabinet using M10×25 screws and then secured to the ground using M16×100 expansion bolts. This provides a fixed installation suitable for the cabinet’s operating environment.
5. Connect the Electrical Cables
All electrical connections must be performed with the equipment completely powered off. Only qualified electrical technicians should perform the connections.
Before wiring, check the cable specifications, current-carrying capacity, conductor material and cable routing. Ensure the cable polarity is correct and provide enough bending space to reduce mechanical stress.
The MS-TS500-2-A provides dedicated connections for the grid, diesel generator and load. The generator connection is specific to this model and should be wired according to the connection diagrams in the manual.
6. Connect the ESS & Optional EMS
The cabinet can be connected to compatible GS215 energy storage systems, with the manual specifying a maximum of five GS215 systems. An EMS can also be installed as an optional component on the AC collection cabinet.
When connecting the ESS, follow the specified connection arrangement and ensure all cable connections are secure before proceeding.
7. Complete Checks Before Operation
Before powering the system, inspect the cabinet, cable routing, cable connections, grounding, labels and cable hole sealing. Cables should be securely connected, neatly routed and free from damage.
For the MS-TS500-2-A, the manual also requires professional personnel to confirm that system parameters are correctly configured before operation.
